Nostalgic over more Retro Gas Pumps

Late June, the family headed to Wisconsin...and stumbled upon some retro-splendor gasoline pumps with glass globes of spinners and marbles.

It was a lazy Saturday morning. We wandered the old downtown with brick buildings, and stopped by an antique shop on Main Street to buy some books. As we strolled towards the river (the more industrial side of downtown that is slowly becoming more gentrified), we spotted a petro-head bar-type place with vintage pumps. It was closed, but a peak inside showcased more vintage signage and at least one towering pump.

A little info on the Wayne gas pumps. The company started in 1891 and gained acclaim for their self-regulating pumps for kerosene and then gasoline. The company also branched out worked on a lot of WW2 production. It had a glass globe with a turnstile to show the flow and clarity of gas.

The other pump was branded Erie. It had the traditional glass with marbles.

Wisconsin seems to have a lot of lovely old downtowns and vintage surprises. I can't wait to stumble upon more!
